An important aspect of the overall quality machined parts is surface roughness, which depends on cutting parameters, tool condition, and machine vibrations. Online roughness prediction in milling operations can reduce set up time assist determining economic parameters. However, adoption existing solutions industrial production inhibited by lacking integration an open retrofittable architecture. In this contribution, a solution for estimation vibration monitoring developed as part retrofitting kit. Wavelet packet transform used to filter signal, then generated estimated. The approach tested experiments.
